Spandex Parade..

I'm suffering from insomnia = I'm terribly bored.
It's bad to the point that I'm starting to become a TV junkie and i'm starting to do stupid things (read: Please don't ask!)

Due to my constant lack of patience, i was frantically channel-surfing..till i saw something that made me speechless for a full 20 seconds after the run of the show's trailer...

"WHO WANTS TO BE A SUPER HERO?"

What the fuck is that? All i saw were a bunch of people prancing around in spandex.
At 2.30am in the morning, THAT IS SO NOT FUNNY.

It seems, the reality TV show is about contestants who create their own superhero, make their own costumes, and portray their best superhero mojo...Supposedly, they will leave their former lives behind and start a series of transformations. Which will result in them trying to earn an opportunity to become real-life superheroes.(?!?!?!)

Stan Lee (Father-of-ALL-superheroes) will judge this competition, and the winner walks away with a comic book of the superhero, supposedly in some movie as well..i'm not very sure myself. And i'm not exactly eager to know...
There was a part of the trailer that had Contestant A saying "This was always what i wanted to do since i was a kid, it's my childhood dream!"

EXCUSE ME? AM I HEARING CORRECTLY?

I understand we all had the urge to dress up in spandex when we were young, for the boys, it was Superman. The whole red-underwear-worn-outside-your-pants kinda thing. Well, for the girls..I don't know about everyone else..I didn't have much of a fetish with superheroes..I like Strawberry Shortcake (OK, i know she's NOT a superhero), but is CareBears counted?
haha i don't think it matters anymore..Keeping Star Wars figurines and whatevers are fine. But please don't start having funny thoughts about dressing up like them...I don't think Cosplay works that way.. Anime, YES!...Superhero (X-Men/Superman/Spiderman) NO!..U don't exactly wanna see the HULK walking around town do u?.....

But anyways who makes being a superhero, a childhood dream? I'm starting to look at other human beings besides kids in a different light now....

(Maybe that middle-aged man standing next to me in the train in corporate attire today has a secret desire of dressing up in spandex as Spiderman...)
Yuck. Damn gross.

It's unimaginable how adults wouldn't give a fuck about prancing around in spandex. And i'm not talking about the kind of spandex that's mentioned in Vogue magazines...I'm talking about the kind where they come in amazingly bright colours, with matching capes and you wear them over one another......sometimes in the wrong sequence. It's scary...

Reality shows are so over-rated, till they're making normal people with funny ambitions act like idiots. It's hard watching fully grown men and women togged with colourful spandex costumes, with capes..i repeat..WITH CAPES and insane-looking head accessories go through obstacles. That's practically torture...
"WHO WANTS TO BE A SUPERHERO?"

NOT ME....and i'm hoping...that none of my friends will tell me....they LIKE the show...
Cos..i might ignore them for a while.
